Public invited: Willamette National Cemetery Hosts Memorial Service for 28 Unclaimed Veterans and Nine Spouses on August 29, 2018
PORTLAND, Oregon - Willamette National Cemetery, in partnership with Missing In America Project (MIAP) and Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral Home, is hosting a graveside service with full military honors for 28 unclaimed Veterans remains, with acknowledgement of nine unclaimed remains of Veteran spouses. These Veterans’ remains were recently located and identified by MIAP volunteers working in cooperation with funeral homes in Washington state.
The ceremony is Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery. The meeting point at Willamette National Cemetary is cortege 4, near entry gate 2, for coordination to the location of the service.
Attendees are invited to a reception at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home following the ceremony.

Willamette National Cemetery is located about 10 miles southeast of Portland, Oregon, straddling the Multnomah and Clackamas County lines. Willamette National Cemetery is home to the Oregon Korean Veterans Memorial, memorializing 283 Oregon servicemen and women who lost their lives in that conflict. Willamette National Cemetery is designated a Blue Star Memorial Highway site.
