Union Gospel Mission Portland Welcomes New Executive Director 

 

Portland, Ore., - We are excited to introduce you to our new Executive Director, Matt Stein. Matt is a lifelong Oregonian who has spent his career in ministry and the nonprofit sector. A natural collaborator and exhorter, he is ready to work together to make a deep impact on the city.
 
Matt’s most recent chapter has been as the Development and Marketing Director of Africa New Life Ministries. There, Matt oversaw the development team and fundraising efforts, led the strategic plan for ministry, and grew new partnerships around the country that helped contribute to the organization’s exponential growth and success. 
 
Matt joined the UGM team in late October. He is honored to join the Mission to serve the most pressing and significant needs in our community and desires to see God powerfully move in the lives of the vulnerable and hard-pressed. 
 
Currently, Matt resides in Sherwood with his wife Jocelyn, and three kids, Braden, Emma, and Caleb. When he’s not working, he’s likely to be found cheering from the sidelines, either his kids or the Oregon State Beavers. He looks forward to connecting with the community in the coming months.
