Union Gospel Mission Providing More Than 900 Thanksgiving Meals This Week

Portland, Ore., - Union Gospel Mission is providing more than 900 Thanksgiving meals this week. On Thanksgiving Day, UGM will serve 300 meals to those experiencing homelessness in downtown Portland. To-go meals will be served at 10 am at UGM’s downtown location at 15 NW Third Avenue.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to provide traditional Thanksgiving meals to hundreds of people experiencing homelessness in Portland. We are especially excited about delivering Thanksgiving meals to people who live on the outskirts of Portland and would not normally have this opportunity,” said Adam Moore Homeless Services Director

The meals include traditional favorites like turkey, gravy, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and of course pumpkin pie.

UGM began serving the remaining 600 Thanksgiving meals Sunday through their Search + Rescue mobile outreach. UGM has also partnered with other local service providers and shelters to provide a special, warm Thanksgiving meal to those experiencing homelessness and in need.
