$4.6 Million In Federal Grants Coming To Oregon To Improve Public Safety (Photo) - 10/01/26
PORTLAND, Ore. — On September 30, 2026, the United States Department of Justice sent grant award notifications, totaling more than $4.6 million, to organizations and cities in Oregon to continue and enhance their work for public safety work in Oregon.
The United States Attorney’s Office wants to congratulate our local partners on their grant awards. The following are the recipients and their award amounts: Liberty House, $1,000,000.00, City of Gresham-East Multnomah Outreach Prevention Intervention, $1,005,000.00, Oregon CASA Network, $1,031,000.00, Oregon Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence Inc., $343,065.00, City of Beaverton-Behavioral Health Court, $500,000.00, and The City of Cottage Grove-Cottage-Grove Police Department $800,000.00.
“I thank these organizations for their work to keep our communities safe and congratulate them on their awards,” said U.S. Attorney Scott E. Bradford for the District of Oregon. “I am thankful the United States Department of Justice continues to support this important work and our partners throughout our Oregon communities.”
These funds come from Byrne Discretionary Community Project Grants/Byrne Discretionary Grants Program and OVW Fiscal Year 2026 State and Territory Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
The work that will be funded include increased medical clinic services to children who are victims of abuse or neglect, work to prevent and combat juvenile delinquency, reduce youth involvement in violent crime, and strengthen coordinated public safety efforts for youth and families, behavioral health aimed at curbing recidivism, Court Appointed Special Advocates for children removed from their home due to abuse or neglect, supporting the work to assist survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and police department fleet modernization aimed at restoring community trust, and improving public safety.
