Anschutz Engineering Center Groundbreaking
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Faculty, staff, donors and community members will mark the beginning of a new era for the UCCS College of Engineering at a groundbreaking ceremony at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 26 on the UCCS campus. The program, which includes remarks from UCCS Chancellor Venkat Reddy, CU President Todd Saliman and Christian Anschutz, will begin at 10:30 a.m.
The new building, part of a $22 million project, will expand the College of Engineering and Applied Science’s student capacity to 2,500 students by 2026 - a 75% increase. The Anschutz Engineering Center will also allow for the launch of a complete array of Aerospace Engineering degrees and the expansion of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, building the next generation of the technical workforce.
