Southern Oregon Wine Institute Celebrates Four Wine Medals with September 5 Event
ROSEBURG, Ore. — August 27, 2026 — The Southern Oregon Wine Institute (SOWI) at Umpqua Community College will celebrate four recent wine competition medals with Four Medals. Two Wines. One Celebration. on Saturday, September 5, from noon to 5 p.m.
SOWI’s 2023 Pinot Noir earned Double Gold at the Pacific Northwest Wine Competition and Bronze at the West Coast College & University Wine Festival. The 2023 Tempranillo earned Gold at the West Coast College & University Wine Festival and Silver at the Pacific Northwest Wine Competition.
During the September 5 event, guests can taste the award-winning 2023 Pinot Noir and Tempranillo alongside their newly released 2024 vintages. The afternoon will also feature small food pairings, additional SOWI wines at the Discovery Bar, and optional behind-the-scenes winery tours with Winemaker Joel Goodwillie.
Admission includes featured wine tastings, food pairings, the Discovery Bar, an optional winery tour, and a $10 credit toward wine purchased during the event.
