UCC Theatre and Music Program Presents Outdoor Concert "The Day the Music Died" - 06/06/24

ROSEBURG, Ore., June 6, 2024 — This is summer, to coincide with Graffiti Weekend, Umpqua Community College will present an outdoor concert, "The Day the Music Died," held in the UCC Swanson Amphitheater from July 10-14 at 7:30 pm.

Created by UCC Music Professor Dr. Jason Heald and produced & directed by Theatre Arts Assistant Professor Bart McHenry, this show celebrates the era and artists of the plane crash that killed early rock and roll musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper, memorialized in Don McLean's classic song, "American Pie".

The show will take place in the outdoor UCC Swanson Amphitheater which will include chair seating, bistro tables, and a picnic area. Food will be available for purchase as well as wine from the UCC Southern Oregon Wine Institute for $5 per glass.

July 13, Saturday - 7:30 pm

July 14, Sunday - 7:30 pm

General admission is $15 cash at the door, seniors are $10, and students of all ages are free.
