Tualatin Police gave out turkeys instead of tickets to some of the drivers they pulled over on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.
Tualatin officers wanted to take the opportunity to put a smile on people's faces and brighten their day by giving back to the community. Drivers who were stopped for committing minor violations received a turkey and a smile. One of the violators who received a turkey had planned on cooking the Thanksgiving turkey they already have at home and serving it to the homeless. They were thankful to receive a second turkey today, so they have one for their own family on Thanksgiving Day.
The turkey giveaway was made possible through generous donations from The Tualatin Community Police Foundation.
