Toppenish School District Announces New Assistant Principal At Toppenish High School (Photo) - 09/08/25

Toppenish School District is proud to announce that Erica Tait, M.Ed., has been named the new Assistant Principal of Toppenish High School. She will begin transitioning into the role later this week.

 

Tait brings a wealth of experience and deep ties to the community. She has been a dedicated member of the Toppenish High School staff since 2018, serving as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Business and Marketing instructor, CTE Department Chair, and head fastpitch coach. Her leadership has also extended into schoolwide initiatives, including Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Ren. Crew Leadership, and the THS Climate and Culture Team. Under her guidance, Toppenish High School earned recognition by Josten’s as a Gold School of Distinction for two consecutive years.

 

In addition to her work at Toppenish High School, Mrs. Tait previously served as Director of Admissions and Director of Student Life at Heritage University, where she gained extensive administrative and supervisory experience. She holds a Principal Certification from Eastern Washington University, a Master of Education in Organizational Leadership from Heritage University, a CTE certification in Business and Marketing from Central Washington University, and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Washington.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Tait into this leadership role at Toppenish High School,” said Dr. Toron Wooldridge, Superintendent of Toppenish School District. “Her strong commitment to student success, her ability to build positive school culture, and her deep connection to our community make her an outstanding choice for Assistant Principal.”

 

Mrs. Tait, a proud graduate of Wapato High School and long-time resident of the Yakima Valley, said she believes, “... in the power of a strong, inclusive school culture; one where all staff take collective responsibility for student success, where students feel seen and valued, and where we create a space for excellence to flourish regardless of a student’s background.” She aims to help bring this vision to life at Toppenish High School through her new role.
