The Tigard Police Department is conducting a pedestrian safety enforcement until noon today, Friday, June 7th.
The enforcement will be held at marked and unmarked crosswalks throughout the city, including:
As a reminder, every intersection – whether marked or not – is considered a crosswalk in Oregon. One of the goals of this enforcement detail is to raise driver awareness about pedestrian safety, which also reduces the risk of automobile-pedestrian crashes and injuries. Depending on the circumstances of the situation, drivers could be issued warnings or citations.
