News Release

Additional Arrests Made In January 7th Riot - 03/18/21

Additional arrests have now been made in connection with the January 7th riot in downtown Tigard and at the Tigard Police Department.

That night, roughly 100 people gathered in what was declared an unlawful assembly and then a riot. Dozens of businesses were tagged along SW Main Street and dozens of windows were smashed, particularly at the Tigard Police Department / City Hall complex on SW Hall Blvd. The damages to city property alone are estimated at over $100,000.

Investigators have dedicated countless hours to this case, reviewing videos, photos and other evidence. Several participants have been identified so far. A Washington County Grand Jury has indicted the following people on felony counts of riot and criminal mischief:
•    Dajah Beck, 38, from Portland
•    Jovanny Garcia, 24, from Beaverton
•    Brandon Schofield, 32, from Portland

We’d like to thank the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Taskforce for their assistance in taking Ms. Beck and Mr. Schofield into custody.
As previously released, one person was also arrested on the night of the riot: Zane Bsoul, 20, from Tigard, who was charged with one count of felony riot. Today, he was indicted on an additional count of felony criminal mischief.

The investigation into the January 7th riot remains active and we anticipate making additional arrests in the near future. Booking photos are attached.

Please note: Mr. Schofield's booking photo is not yet available. It should be available shortly from the Washington County Jail.
