The Grotto's Seven Days of Service Begins Today (Photo) - 09/14/20

The Grotto invites everyone to join them in a week of service supporting organizations around the region.

With the devastating fires still burning, this could not be a better time to do what we can to care for our neighbors and our environment.

Seven Days of Service is inspired by the mission of the Servites, the community of priests who minister at The Grotto. Each day this week focuses on a different subject.

Many activities can be done from home. We will help with instructions and inspiration.

Monday, Sept. 14: HOMELESSNESS - Make care kits for individuals experiencing homelessness, following guidance from Portland Resue Mission.

Tuesday, Sept. 15: SAVING LIVES - Register to donate blook at one of The Grotto's 8 Red Cross blood drives.

Wednesday, Sept. 16: FEEDING THE HUNGRY - Donate food and personal hygiene items at our contact-free food drive benefitting Snow Cap Community Charities.

Thursday, Sept. 17: CARING FOR ANIMALS - Make toys and treats for the many sheltered animals housed at the Oregon Humane Society.

Friday, Sept. 19: CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT - Sign up to clean or care for an environmental space, such as with SOLVE.

Saturday, Sept. 20: SUPPORTING THE ILL OR HOMEBOUND - Write cards, make calls, prepare a meal for those near or far.

Sunday, Sept. 20: A PLACE OF PEACE - Finding the resources to make your home a sanctuary of peace, like The Grotto.
