The Grotto Offers Free Admission To Gardens Through Sunday, March 15 (Photo) - 03/12/20

"As we confront this widespread outbreak, The Grotto stands united with all who suffer here and throughout the world," said Fr. Don Siple, OSM, Rector of The Grotto. "Like Mary who stood by her son, offering hope in his suffering, we desire to be a hopeful presence to all at this time."

"In this spirit of hope, we invite everyone to visit our Upper Gardens at no charge through Sunday, March 15, so that you might have a place to reflect, to pray, and to find comfort and hope."

A Portland landmark for 95 years, The Grotto (The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother), includes 62-acres of scenic gardens, statuary and forested trails. The grounds are open daily from 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Admission to the Upper Gardens is sold until 4:30 p.m.

The Grotto is following the direction of the Archdiocese of Portland regarding Mass, which is celebrated daily in the Chapel of Mary.

The Grotto, located at NE 85th& Sandy Blvd. in Portland, is a ministry of the Servite Friars. For more information, go to thegrotto.org.
