Officers Work to Make the Uptown Village Area Safer for Pedestrians - 01/12/18

On Thursday, January 11th, 2018 the Target Zero Traffic Safety Task Force (Funded by the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.) sent extra patrols to the Uptown Village area of Main Street in Vancouver with the purpose of enforcing pedestrian safety laws. The goals were to heighten the public's awareness of pedestrian safety, distracted driving/walking, and speeding.

In approximately 30 hours, officers from Battle Ground, La Center, Vancouver, and Washougal Police Departments and Clark County Sheriff's Office, with dispatch support from Clark Regional Emergency Service Agency looked for violators as well as opportunities to educate those on foot.
