Midnight Apartment Fire with a Rescue (Photo) - 02/10/24

Just before midnight on Feb. 9, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue firefighters were dispatched to a reported apartment on fire in the 14000 block of Southwest Teal Boulevard in Beaverton. Multiple callers to 911 reported seeing gray smoke coming from an adjacent apartment. Additional reports said the smoke was coming out of the front door.

Upon arrival, crews discovered heavy smoke rising from the roofline. Firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the fire while also initiating a search of the home for occupants. During the search, crews found one person inside the house who was in critical condition. Crews pulled the victim out of the structure to our medical team staged outside. No other individuals or pets were found inside the home.

The incident was upgraded to a second alarm to bring additional resources to the scene. TVF&R crews were assisted by American Medical Response. Firefighters had the fire under control shortly after midnight and were able to contain it to the one unit.

TVF&R fire investigators responded to the scene and are working to determine the cause of the fire.

TVF&R was also assisted on scene by Beaverton Police, American Medical Response, Portland General Electric, and NW Natural Gas.
