News Release
Crews Respond to Early Morning Newberg-Dundee Bypass Crash - 01/07/19

This information is being released on behalf of Dundee Fire District: At 5:22 a.m. today, callers to 911 reported a crash on the Newberg-Dundee bypass at Milepost 57 located in Dundee Fire District's service area.

First-arriving firefighters observed two semi-trucks crashed and in flames. A passenger vehicle was also involved.

At one point, flames were 50 feet high. Since there were no fire hydrants nearby, firefighters from Dundee Fire District, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, Dayton Fire District, and St. Paul Fire Department shuttled water to the scene. Fire crews fought to control the blaze for more than an hour.

Two people perished in the crash and another was injured. Oregon State Police will be investigating the cause of the crash, releasing any photos, and providing all further updates.
