Tigard-Tualatin School District Welcomes New Administrators Dedicated To Talent And Professional Development (Photo) - 07/01/19
Tigard, Oregon – Tigard-Tualatin School District (TTSD) welcomes two new administrators who will focus on enhancing resources, practices, and development dedicated to first-class teachers and staff.
Lenichtka “Len” Reed joins TTSD as Associate Director of Human Resources. Len will be focused on building an effective human capital program to benefit employees district-wide. Her primary focus will be on identifying and growing top talent inside and outside the district, implementing practices that invest in professional development and retention, and executing a strong recruitment agenda.
With nearly two decades in education, Len is a proven transformational leader dedicated to building strong cultures and systems. Named the 2010 Administrator of the Year at Hemet Unified School District in California, she comes to TTSD from the Gladstone School District where she served as the principal for Kraxberger Middle School (KMS). Prior to KMS, Len served as a teacher, then administrator for California-based school districts before joining Portland Public Schools as a middle school administrator. She holds a BA in Liberal Studies from California State University and her MA in Education Administration from the University of Redlands in California.
Tim Blackburn takes on the position of Title III Administrator, leading the professional development implementation and evaluation of TTSD’s teaching corps, along with the district’s English Language Development (ELD) and Two-Way Immersion programs (TWI). He will contribute to the leadership of the district’s Teachers on Special Assignment (TOSA) and will contribute to curriculum adoption, alignment and renewal efforts.
Tim has also been in education for nearly twenty years and comes to TTSD from Education Northwest. He started his career as a teacher in New York City schools, then shifted to roles at the Oregon Department of Education and Education Northwest where he pursued a passion for developing high-quality professional learning. He has served multilingual students and families in a variety of roles and will lend those talents to partnering to lead and facilitate equitable instructional practices and delivery aimed to grow and strengthen our current and future programming for all TTSD students with an emphasis on English Language Learners. Tim is a Peace Corps Alum and holds a BA in Modern Languages from Kansas State University and a MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Columbia University.
Reed and Blackburn join TTSD on July 1, 2019.
