News Release
Silver Key's Tree Planting Ceremony - Colorado Springs, Colorado - 09/09/21

The community is cordially invited to attend a Memorial Tree Planting Ceremony at the Silver Key campus, honoring our clients, friends and family members who lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic.  This tree planting also celebrates Colorado Springs’ Sesquicentennial (150th) Anniversary Tree Challenge with the goal of planting 18,071 trees city-wide.

Date:         Saturday, September 18th
Time:         1:00 to 1:30pm
Location:    1625 Murray Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80916

Silver Key is proud to partner with Eagle Scout candidate Jayden Garner in this project, starring a 7’ Hoopsi Blue Spruce which will secure a prominent location in the campus landscape.  Included in this project to procure and plant the tree is researching and developing a care and maintenance schedule, cataloging and creating an inventory of Silver Key’s campus trees (13 different types and approximately 300 trees), procuring a bronze plaque and in-ground metal holder, planning the planting ceremony, raising funds to cover all associated expenses, and engaging volunteers to assist with and lead the project. Because “Aging is…All of Us”, Silver Key is excited to work with Eagle Scout candidate Garner and his troop to plant a living memorial for the future.
