Monday evening crews at Sheridan/SW Polk/West Valley Fire Districts were notified about the discovery of a deceased body in the Yamhill River near the West Valley Fire Station, located at 825 NE Main Street in Willamina. Our crews confirmed the location of the deceased body in the river and immediately contacted law enforcement. Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office requested Sheridan/SW Polk/West Valley Fire Districts’ assistance in retrieving the body from the river due to the steep terrain. Sheridan/SW Polk/West Valley crews were able to retrieve the body from the water. Crews worked closely with law enforcement to allow them to perform investigation duties as needed. No further details are available at this time as there is an ongoing investigation.

Per Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, the body matched the description of escaped FCI inmate Jesus Adrian Rodriguez, age 43.  Rodriguez had walked away from the Sheridan Minimum Security Camp on Ballston Road the day prior. It is possible this body was that of Anyone with who may have seen Rodriguez out of custody on November 24th or 25th is encouraged to contact the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit at 503-434-7506.
