News Release
Share to Hold Appeal for Meals Campaign June 6 to 12; All-Day Food Drive on June 10 - 06/04/21

Vancouver, WA – Share’s annual Appeal for Meals campaign will be held this year June 6 to 12; all funds raised will support Share’s meal programs.

“We believe that every person counts. But for hundreds of local families and individuals, access to nutritious food remains a constant, daily struggle. To-go meals through our Hot Meals program remain near historically high numbers with 8,500+ served per month,” said Diane McWithey, executive director. “It is vital that we keep our Backpack, Fresh Food Pantries, Hot Meals, Summer Meals and Outreach Food Kit programs fully funded, providing healthy and fresh foods to children and families, women and men in our community.”

Donations can be made online at sharevancouver.org or by mailing a check to 2306 NE Andresen Road, Vancouver, WA 98661.

All financial donations will be matched up to $78,225 thank to Amerigroup, Fran & Bruce Bosch, DA Davidson, gravitate, iQ Credit Union, KMR Group Foundation, The Tod & Maxine McClaskey Family Foundation, New Seasons Market, Northwest Nutrition Chapter 17, OnPoint Community Credit Union, Pacific Premier Bank, Jessica & Henry Schuck, and Stahancyk, Kent & Hook.

The Appeal for Meals campaign will also include an All-Day Food Drive on Thurs., June 10, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Share Fromhold Service Center, 2306 NE Andresen Road. The food drive will be a drive-thru event at the warehouse door (located on the south side of the building; directional arrows will guide donors through the parking lot). Donors do not need to leave their vehicle, just pop their trunk or open their door and a volunteer or staff member will collect their non-perishable food donation.

Needed items include: canned or easy-open chicken & tuna, canned soup (not condensed ideal), peanut Butter (no glass jars, 28 oz or less), canned fruit & fruit cups, chili (pop top ideal), squeezable apple sauce, smoothies & yogurt, pasta (2 lb. or less), rice (2 lb. or less), mac & cheese, Cup O’ Noodles, chewy granola & snack bars, cheese and/or peanut butter crackers and reusable grocery bags (bags are how Share distributes food to kids in the Backpack program).
