9/11/20 9:00PM Update for Sandy (Photo) - 09/11/20

As a reminder, the county-wide curfew implemented by Clackamas County starts at 10pm and goes until 6am. This curfew is in effect in the City of Sandy and carries a $500 fine for violators.

There are exceptions to the curfew and part of the order reads, “no persons other than those working in life- and property-saving activities (or civilian employees at night-shift jobs) may be upon the streets or public places. The curfew does not apply to first responders and community members working to relocate during the wildfire evacuations.”

Sandy Police Department has extra patrol units working through the weekend. We know that people are on edge with everything going on and we are doing our part in making sure that this city remains a safe place for everyone.

Air quality remains hazardous in Sandy. You are encouraged to stay indoors as much as possible. Fire danger also remains very high.

Continue to monitor Clackamas.us/wildfires and the evacuation map found there. Also sign up for Public Alerts at: https://www.publicalerts.org/hazards/wildfire-2020.

Please report any criminal or suspicious behavior to the Clackamas County Non-Emergency Dispatch at 503-655-8211.
