News Release
9/11/20 2:00PM Update for Sandy - 09/11/20

Good Afternoon. Sandy and the surrounding areas have not changed evacuation levels. Weather reports for the next few days and coming week appear to signal improving weather for firefighting efforts. Continue to monitor clackamas.us/wildfires for up to date evacuation information.

A note about arson rumors: Sandy Police have not arrested anyone for intentionally setting fires in the Sandy area and Sandy Police are not aware of anyone affiliated with any group attempting to do so. Within the City of Sandy, we have responded to several reports of suspicious persons related to fire-setting, but none have been substantiated.

Air quality remains hazardous in Sandy. You are encouraged to stay indoors as much as possible.

SAM buses to Gresham remain on normal schedules and dial-a-ride is available for life sustaining or evacuation transportation (call 503-668-3466). All other SAM services are suspended.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Twitter page is sharing helpful information and links to keep you informed about the county-wide fire response: https://twitter.com/ClackCoSheriff
