Salem Police Investigate Homicide in Northwest Salem

 

SALEM, Ore.-- On August 30, 2026, at approximately 11:17 p.m., Salem Police responded to a report of a shooting near Taggart and Wallace Roads NW.

 

When officers arrived at the scene they found a deceased adult male. The incident appears to be isolated, and there is no known threat to the public at this time.

 

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit are actively working the case.

 

Further inquiries should be directed to the Salem Police Public Information Office.
