Salem SWAT and Strategic Investigations Unit Arrest Suspect and Seize Drugs and Firearms

 

SALEM, Ore. -- On August 6, 2026, at approximately 4:59 a.m., officers from the Salem Police SWAT team served a search warrant in the 5000 block of Coloma Court SE, resulting in the arrest of Tyler Alvis, 35, of Salem, on multiple drug and firearm charges.

 

As part of an ongoing investigation, Strategic Investigations Unit detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence. During the search of the residence, officers located two .22 caliber handguns, approximately $1,740 in cash, drugs packaged for sale, scales, and packaging materials.

 

Alvis was lodged at Marion County Jail for Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), as well as Felon in Possession of a Weapon.

 

The investigation is ongoing, and inquiries should be directed to the Marion County District Attorney's Office.
