Man Arrested After Drug Exchange; Fentanyl Seized  

SALEM, Ore. -- On July 16, 2026, at approximately 4:35 p.m., officers arrested Cleo O. Andrews, 54, of Salem, following a drug offense investigation in the area of Lancaster Drive NE and Sunnyview Drive NE. 

While working in the area as part of the ongoing Intelligence, Communication, and Planning (ICAP) initiative, detectives from the Special Investigations Unit saw Andrews selling drugs to an individual. Andrews attempted to hide a bag under a nearby truck as detectives and Patrol officers moved to arrest him. 

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the bag and located approximately one ounce of fentanyl as well as a small amount of cash. 

The investigation is ongoing, and further inquiries should be directed to the Marion County District Attorney's Office.
