Salem, Ore. — Several arrests have been made in the shooting incident which occurred on February 27, 2021 in west Salem.

The victim, who survived his injuries, is identified as Bryant Karner of Salem.

Three individuals were arrested in the case for the following crimes.

Colton Thomas James Burr, age 22 of Mill City and Austin Mitchell McClure, age 21 of Lebanon:

• • Attempted murder in the second degree
  • Assault in the first degree
  • Conspiracy to commit murder in the second degree
  • Unlawful use of a weapon

Katie Taylor Slay, age 23 of Mill City:

• • Conspiracy to commit murder in the second degree

To protect the integrity of the case, no further details are being released. As such, the case is now under the purview of the Polk County District Attorney, and inquiries should be directed to that office.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to the area of Wallace RD and Edgewater ST NW on the report of a shooting incident. Officers located a victim and rendered aid until paramedics arrived.

Detectives responded to the scene and are actively investigating the crime. No further details are available currently.
