Salem Police Detectives Make Arrest In Game Crazy Armed Robbery (Photo) -08/24/18
On Thursday, August 24th 2018 at approximately 1:30PM the Salem Police SWAT Team served a search warrant at 352 Aaron Court NE in Salem in reference to the armed robbery of the Game Crazy Store, located at 1911 Lancaster Drive NE, that occurred back on August 2nd 2018 at approximately 7:55PM. During the course of the investigation, which was conducted by Salem Police Detective Anthony VanDeKoppel, a suspect was developed and identified as Vredenburg, Tamatoa James a 19 year old male, who resides in Salem, OR. Salem Police SWAT Team served the search warrant without incident and located Tamatoa inside, at which point he was safely taken into custody. Salem Police Detectives located evidence at the residence linking Tamatoa to the armed robbery along with the vehicle believed used during the robbery. Tamatoa also provided a statement to Detective VanDeKoppel outlining his involvement in the crime. Tamatoa was booked into the Marion County Jail on charges of Robbery in the 2nd Degree (Measure 11 Crime), Menacing, and Theft in the 2nd Degree. NFI
