*** Update with Photos Attached ***

Investigation has shown the downed power line is the result of a downed tree on Washington Street west of the intersection with Commerical Street.  PGE estimates it will take a couple of hours to restore the power and traffic signals.

The Salem Police Department is on scene of a power line down on Washington Street South.  As a result of the downed power line the traffic signals on Commercial Street from Owens to Madrona, and on Liberty Street from Superior to Owens are completely out.  Drivers are asked to avoid using Commerical Street or, if necessary, to drive with caution.

PGE has a crew on scene working on the downed line.
