Beach & Riverside Cleanup In Milwaukie & Molalla: Local Volunteer Events Invite Community Action (Photo) - 09/11/26
Portland, Ore., September 11, 2026 – SOLVE’s annual Beach & Riverside Cleanup is bringing volunteers together across Oregon and Southwest Washington from September 18–27, with nearly 100 volunteer opportunities to clean up and care for local beaches, waterways, parks and community spaces.
Communities in Milwaukie and Molalla offering several opportunities to care for local rivers, public spaces and recreation areas. From downtown streets and the river’s edge in Milwaukie to recreation sites, trails and riverside areas along the Molalla River, these local events give residents a chance to make a visible difference close to home.

Pick It Up, Milwaukie!
Milwaukie | September 19, 8:30 – 10:30
In partnership with Bob’s Red Mill, SOLVE is bringing back Pick It Up, Milwaukie! for its second year. Volunteers will clean up downtown streets, business corridors and nearby gathering spaces, as well as Milwaukie’s Bay Park, including the river’s edge. After the cleanup, participants can join the community’s Sustainability Fair nearby.
Molalla River Cleanup
Molalla | September 19, 9 am – 2 pm
Volunteers, in collaboration with the Bureau of Land Management, SOLVE and Molalla River Watch, will clean up recreation and day-use sites along the Molalla River while also helping with trail maintenance on the nearby Hardy Creek trail system.
Molalla River Watch Annual Fall Cleanup
Molalla | September 19, 9 am – 1 pm
Volunteers will gather at Feyrer Park before dispersing to public river access sites throughout the Molalla River Recreation Corridor. The cleanup will focus on removing trash along the river, with possible trail enhancement work, and will include a volunteer appreciation barbecue afterward.
Wagonwheel Park Cleanup
Molalla | September 27, 1 pm – 3 pm
Local Girl Scout troops will help clean up Wagonwheel Park, removing trash from the parking lot, pathways and riverside areas of this well-loved summer destination.
