Beach & Riverside Cleanup In In Vancouver & Southwest Washington: Local Volunteer Events Invite Community Action (Photo) - 09/10/26
Portland, Ore., September 10, 2026 – SOLVE’s annual Beach & Riverside Cleanup is bringing volunteers together across Oregon and Southwest Washington from September 18–27, with nearly 100 volunteer opportunities to clean up and care for local beaches, waterways, parks and community spaces.
In Southwest Washington, Beach & Riverside Cleanup events will connect community action with clean waterways, healthy habitats and care for some of Vancouver’s most-loved public spaces. From Waterfront Park and the Renaissance Trail to historic Covington House and Ellsworth Springs West, volunteers can take part in cleanup and restoration projects throughout the region.

Migratory Bird Celebration
Vancouver | September 19, 10 am – 1 pm
Vancouver Audubon and the City of Vancouver’s Water Resources Education Center are teaming up for the third annual Migratory Bird Celebration. This free, family-friendly event will feature games, crafts and bird outings while highlighting the importance of clean water, native plants, insects and healthy habitats for migrating birds.
Clean & Green: Waterfront Park Cleanup
Vancouver | September 19, 10 am – 12 pm
SOLVE’s Clean & Green Series will bring volunteers together at Waterfront Park, downtown Vancouver and the Renaissance Trail to remove litter and care for community spaces. Volunteers will meet at the waterfront across from Evoke Winery before dispersing into the surrounding area for the cleanup.
Esther Short Cleanup with SOLVE – Give More 24!
Vancouver | September 24, 10 am – 12 pm
SOLVE will partner with Give More 24! for a community litter cleanup beginning at Esther Short Park. Volunteers can give back to the community while taking part in Southwest Washington’s annual day of giving.
National Public Lands Day – Ivy Removal at the Historic Covington House
Vancouver | September 24, 9 am – 12 pm
The City of Vancouver, Vancouver’s NatureSpaces program, and the Clark County Historical Museum are bringing volunteers together to remove invasive ivy around the historic Covington House. Built in 1848, the site is the oldest Euro-American structure in Washington and a significant part of Vancouver’s history.
Ellsworth Springs West – Natural Area Ivy Removal
Vancouver | September 26, 10 am – 12 pm
Volunteers will work together to remove harmful ivy from trees at Ellsworth Springs West, helping protect native trees, wildlife habitat and biodiversity in the natural area.
Cleanup at Operation Understanding – Couve Collective
Vancouver | September 26, 11 am–12 pm
SOLVE and Couve Collective will kick off the organization’s Operation Understanding block party with a community litter cleanup. Volunteers are invited to stick around afterward for food, live music and local vendors through 5 pm.
