Residential Structure Fire - 544 W. Harrison Street - 8-24-25 (Photo) - 08/24/25

At 6:15 a.m. on August 24, 2025, firefighters responded to a residential structure fire at 544 W. Harrison Street, with reported smoke showing from outside the structure. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a single-family residential structure with heavy black smoke coming from all eaves of the structure with flames visible on the exterior portion of the home. 

 

Firefighters conducted a primary search, and the home was found to be vacant.  It was determined that no residents currently resided at the property. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and conducted overhaul of the structure.

 

The single-family residence sustained significant structural, smoke, and water damage. A fire investigator responded to the scene of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

 

Eighteen firefighters assisted with firefighting operations. Other agencies assisting with the fire included Central Douglas Fire & Rescue, Umpqua Valley Ambulance, Avista Utilities, and Pacific Power.
