REDMOND POLICE CITE JUVENILE FOR DAMAGE TO CENTRAL DRY CANYON PARK (Photo) - 06/30/26

Redmond, OR – On June 29, 2026, at approximately 6:40 p.m., the Redmond Police Department (RPD) responded to a report of a juvenile damaging sprinklers at the Skate Park in the Central Dry Canyon.  

 

Using information from a witness and by reviewing security cameras in the park, officers were able to identify and arrest a 13-year-old male who kicked and damaged newly installed sprinkler heads in the park.  The juvenile was charged with Criminal Mischief and will be appearing in court.

 

The damage to the sprinklers was estimated at $200.   

 

RPD has received numerous reports of ongoing vandalism at City parks and is actively investigating those crimes.  City parks are being patrolled throughout the summer.   If you see anyone damaging City property, please contact non-emergency Dispatch at 541-693-6911.   

 

The City of Redmond has invested millions in our parks over the past year and is committed to ensuring parks remain safe, welcoming spaces for everyone. Protecting these public assets is a shared responsibility, and those who cause damage will be held accountable.  

 

RPD would like to thank the citizen who reported the damage and remind residents that City parks and trails are open for use at sunrise and close at sunset.
