Suspect Arrested In October 31 Robbery Of Sassy’s Café - 12/09/25

Redmond, OR — A suspect linked to the October 31, robbery of Sassy’s Cafe’ was identified by the Redmond Police Department (RPD) as 54-year-old, Douglas Richard York.

   

On December 8, 2025, at approximately 3:00 PM, members of the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team (CERT) apprehended Mr. York at his residence in Crooked River Ranch. The arrest was made in connection with the robbery as well as for an outstanding warrant on an unrelated matter. 

 

Mr. York is currently in custody at the Deschutes County Jail as the investigation continues.  

 

RPD would like to thank the Redmond and Crooked River Ranch communities for their assistance during this investigation. RPD would also like to thank the Oregon State Police Crime Lab, CERT, Bend Police Department, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation of this incident.
