Redmond Police and Central Oregon Drug Enforcement team make Arrest in Drug Crime (Photo) - 10/17/24

Redmond, OR – On Tuesday, October 15, Redmond Street Crimes detectives arrested Redmond resident Christopher Lee Hughes (39-years old) on charges of Unlawful Delivery and possession of both Methamphetamine and Cocaine.  

Redmond Street Crimes, working in conjunction with Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) and Redmond Patrol Officers contacted Mr. Hughes on 100 block of W. Antler Avenue. Upon contact with officers, Mr. Hughes attempted to escape and fled on foot. Mr. Hughes was apprehended and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail.  

The execution of a subsequent search warrant for Mr. Hughes backpack uncovered 397 grams of methamphetamine, three grams of cocaine, and items common to drug trafficking such as scales and baggies.  

In addition to the drug related crimes, Mr. Hughes was arrested for an outstanding parole board warrant, a restraining order violation, escape, resisting arrest and an outstanding sex abuse case. The Redmond Police Department would like to recognize the cooperative efforts of CODE and Redmond Patrol officers in taking Mr. Hughes into custody.
