Redmond Police Arrest Attempted Murder Suspect - 06/10/24

On Thursday June 6, the Redmond Police Department arrested 37-year-old Bend resident Darron Jay Reece on charges of Attempted Murder Second Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Assault 1, and Felon in Possession of a Weapon. Reece reported to the Prineville Police Department and turned himself a day after being questioned regarding his involvement in a shooting that occurred near the intersection of NE Hemlock Avenue and NE 17th Street.  

The shooting was reported on Monday evening, June 3, and the victim is still being treated for life threatening injuries, but is expected to survive. The Central Oregon Major Incident Team assisted in a large canvas of the area and was instrumental in developing information about Reece’s involvement. The Redmond Police Department would like to thank the Prineville Police Department for their assistance in taking Reece into custody.
