Motor Vehicle Accident Temporary Closes Airport Way Near The Deschutes County Fairgrounds (Photo) -06/06/24

On 6/5/2024, Redond Police and Redmond Fire and Rescue responded to a motor vehicle accident on SW Airport Way, near Mt. Hood Drive. The crash involved an Acura SUV and a Harley Davidson Motorcycle, with two riders. 

 Both riders of the Motorcycle were transported to Bend St, Charles. The driver of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries. The accident caused the closure of SW Airport Way, and travelers headed to Roberts Field were redirected. 

The driver of the SUV was issued a citation for illegal U-turn. The desirable weather brings motorcycle riders to the roadways and the Redmond Police Department would like to remind motorist to have an increased awareness regarding motorcycle traffic.
