Local Law Enforcement Arrest Two Redmond Residents And Seize Almost Half A Pound Of Fentanyl (Photo) - 12/15/23
Redmond, Oregon -Over the last couple of months, the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) team in collaboration with the Redmond Police Department (RPD) conducted a short-term investigation into the possession and distribution of fentanyl involving 55-year-old Redmond resident Thomas Andrews and 49-year-old Redmond resident Melanie Doherty.
On Thursday, December 14, 2023, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Thomas Andrews and Melanie Doherty were contacted by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office during a traffic stop in Terrebonne, Oregon. During the traffic stop, Bend Police Department (BPD) drug detection K9 Bonnie alerted to the odor of illegal substances in the vehicle. Approximately half a pound of Fentanyl, in powder and pill form, was seized.
Thomas Andrews was arrested for Felony Unlawful Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance and Attempted Delivery of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. He was lodged at the Deschutes County Jail.
Melanie Doherty was arrested for Misdemeanor Unlawful Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to Commit Delivery of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. She was later lodged at the Deschutes County Jail.
