Community Helps Law Enforcement Find Missing Redmond Man 

On Saturday, December 18, 2020, at approximately 5:32 p.m. a concerned community member contacted Deschutes County Dispatch advising they had seen a Facebook Post on the Redmond Police Department’s webpage about Mr. Olson.  The community member informed dispatch they knew Mr. Olson was currently at a hotel in Bend, Oregon.  The Bend Police Department contacted Mr. Olson at a local hotel and verified he was safe and in good health.   

The Redmond Police Department (RPD) would like to thank our community, especially the person who reported Mr. Olson’s whereabouts, for helping us locate him.  RPD is grateful for the positive relationships we have with our community and local police departments, as these relationships were imperative in our ability to locate a missing endangered person.  Strong community relationships will assist us in meeting our vision of being the Safest Community in Oregon.

REDMOND POLICE SEEK PUBLIC ASSIST TO LOCATE MISSING/ENDANGERED PERSON, 67-YEAR-OLD RONALD OLSON

On Saturday, December 19, 2020, at approximately 8:30 a.m. 67-year-old Ronald Norman Olson of Redmond, Oregon, was last seen walking away from his residence near SW 23rd St. and SW Pumice Ave.  Mr. Olson has gray hair, blue eyes, is approximately 5’10” and weighs 190 pounds.  He was last reported wearing a dark brown and gray jacket in Native American print and blue jeans.   

Mr. Olson’s disappearance isn’t suspicious; however he suffers from an underlying medical condition which causes concern for his safety.  Mr. Olson has been known to frequent Bend Memorial Clinic (BMC), St. Charles Medical Center, Safeway and Fred Meyer.  We appreciate any assistance the public can provide in locating Mr. Olson.  If you know of his whereabouts, please contact the Redmond Police Department immediately through  Deschutes County Dispatch at 541-693-6911.
