UPDATE - Redmond Police & Fire Respond To House Fire; One Deceased - 10/13/19

UPDATE - The deceased is identified as Edward Walworth, a 60-year-old Redmond resident.  Walworth lived at the location of the fire.  At this time, the incident remains under investigation and no further media releases are anticipated.

PREVIOUS RELEASE-

Redmond, OR – At approximately 3:20 PM on October 10, 2019, Redmond Police and Redmond Fire & Rescue responded to the 1500 block of SW Metolius Ave, Redmond, after receiving a 911 call of a house on fire.  The house, which was one half of a duplex, was being lived in by residents at the time.

 

At this time, Redmond Police can confirm there is one deceased adult male inside the residence.  The deceased individual will not be identified to give the family time to notify additional people.  The cause of the fire is not yet known and continues to be investigated.

 

The American Red Cross has been notified and his responding to the scene to assist those displaced by the fire.

 

It is anticipated fire and police personnel will remain at the scene for several more hours.
