Redmond, OR - The correct last name of Jose is, "Rodriguez-Sanchez."  The Redmond Police Department reversed the order of his last name in the previous release.  RPD regrets the error.

Redmond, OR – On March 13, 2019, at approximately 10:20 PM, Officers from the Redmond Police Department, Detectives with the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) team, and members of the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team (CERT), located two wanted subjects, 40-year-old Jose Sanchez-Rodriguez, and 27-year-old Sadie Renee Johnson, both from the Madras area, in the parking lot of The Buggy Stop Market, 1340 NW 6th Street, Redmond.  As Officer’s were approaching the vehicle, a silver 2004 Volkswagen passenger car, the driver, Jose Sanchez-Rodriguez attempted to flee in the vehicle.  Jose Sanchez-Rodriguez drove his vehicle behind The Buggy Stop Market where he and the passenger, Sadie Johnson, ran away on foot.

As Jose Sanchez-Rodriguez was climbing a fence, K9 “Mavrick” bit him on the arm.  Jose Sanchez-Rodriguez was able to break free from K9 “Mavrick’s” bite and get away, climbing over the fence.  K9 “Mavrick” and his handler, Officer Powers, searched the area and located Jose Sanchez-Rodriguez hiding a short distance away.  Jose Sanchez-Rodriguez was taken into custody without further incident.  He did not sustain any injury from the K9 bite.

Sadie Renee Johnson was captured by officers before she was able to climb the fence.  She was arrested without incident.

During the subsequent investigation, methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle and possession of Jose Sanchez-Rodriguez and Sadie Renee Johnson.

Jose Sanchez-Rodriguez was transported and lodged at the Deschutes County Adult Jail for the following crimes:

  • 4 Arrest Warrants (Multnomah County, Clackamas County, & Washington County)

Sadie Renee Johnson was transported and lodged at the Deschutes County Adult Jail for the following crimes:
