News Release
Redmond Police Investigating Stabbing Incident (UPDATE) - 11/03/18

UPDATE - Throughout the late night of Friday, November 2, and into the early hours of Saturday, November 3, Redmond Police Officers and Detectives continued to investigate the reported dispute which led to a male adult suffering a non-life threatening knife wound.  The investigation led to the arrest of Mr. Marc Hunter, 44-year-old and Redmond resident, for Assault in the Fourth Degree, Menacing, Coercion, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.  Mr. Hunter was lodged at the DCSO Adult Jail.

The investigation revealed the two involved adult males were related, and no other people are being sought in connection with this incident.  It does appear alcohol and other drugs were contributing factors in the dispute between the family members.

Redmond Police was assisted at the scene by a Bend Police K9 Officer.  The K9 was utilized to search the area of the dispute and helped to locate the straight blade knife believed to have been used during this incident.  The knife likely would not have been found without the use of the K9.

During the time this incident was investigated, several other calls for service were received, to include a non-criminal death investigation, a suicidal individual on the NW Maple Ave bridge spanning the Dry Canyon, and several others resulting in a delayed response.  Redmond Police is appreciative of the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office who assisted by taking several calls within the city limits of Redmond, while all of our resources were committed.
