Juvenile Stabbed at Hope Playground, Three Arrested

Redmond, Oregon -- On Saturday December 2, 2017, at approximately 7:25 PM, four teenage male juveniles were playing tag at Hope Playground, when they were confronted by three males wearing bandanas over their faces. One male with a bandana, later identified as 18-year-old Isiah Laack, was armed with brass knuckles and assaulted a 16-year-old male juvenile. Another male with a bandana, later identified as 18-year-old Noah Huber, was armed with a box cutter. Noah Huber used the box cutter to stab a 15-year-old male in a non-life-threatening location. The 15-year-old victim, 16-year-old victim, and their friends ran to McDonald's in the Nolan Town Center, where they called police. The 15-year-old victim was transported by medics to Redmond St. Charles Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Redmond Police Department and Deschutes County Sheriff's Office responded to Hope Playground, set-up a perimeter and searched the area with Bend Police Department Victor Umnitz and his K-9 partner Ronny. Officers conducted an extensive search of the area and reviewed video surveillance of Hope Playground. Information gathered during the investigation led to the identification of the three involved suspects; 18-year-old Redmond resident Isiah Laack, 18-year-old Redmond resident Noah Huber, and a 15-year-old male juvenile who resides in Bend, Oregon.

Isiah Laack, Noah Huber, and the 15-year-old male were located at a residence in Redmond, Oregon, and interviewed regarding the stabbing. During the investigation, it was learned the suspects in this case did not know the victims and it was an unprovoked assault.

Isiah Laack was transported to the Deschutes County Adult Jail, where he was lodged for the following crimes: Attempted Assault I, Assault II x 2, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing x 4, Disorderly Conduct II and a Parole/Probation Violation. Isiah Laack's bail for the above listed crimes is $190,000 and is being held on a no bail Parole/Probation Violation.

Noah Huber was transported to the Deschutes County Adult Jail, where he was lodged for the following crimes: Attempted Assault I, Assault II, Assault III, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing x 4, Tampering with Evidence, Disorderly Conduct II, and a Parole/Probation Violation. Noah Huber's bail for the above listed crimes is $197,500 and is being held on a no bail Parole/Probation Violation.

The 15-year-old male juvenile was arrested for Assault III, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Disorderly Conduct II.

Redmond Police would like to remind residents to contact them anytime they see something or someone that appears to be suspicious, call dispatch at 541-693-6911 for non-emergencies or 911 for emergencies.

Redmond Police increased police presence in the parks with full time officers, as well as, four dedicated Cadet officers patrolling the parks during the summer months. We would also like to remind our community members that the parks are closed from one hour after sunset, until sunrise.
