The Red Cross Responded to a Home Fire Disaster in Springfield - 01/08/19

Disaster responders with the local chapter of the American Red Cross were dispatched to a home fire disaster on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at approximately 0230 hours in the vicinity of the 1000 Block of 5th Street in Springfield, Oregon.

This single family fire affected 1 adult and 3 children. The Red Cross provided resources to meet the immediate basic needs of those affected, such as temporary housing, food clothing comfort kits which include toiletry items, additional information about  his incident, if available may be obtained by contacting the local first responding agency/fire department. 

The Red Cross in Oregon and Southwest Washington ((Cascades Region), helps an average of three families per day. The Red Cross advocates emergency preparedness and offers the installationof free smoke alarms in our community. Residents may call 503-528-5783 or complete an on line application  at www.red Ross.org/GetAnAlarm to schedule an installation.
