American Red Cross Dispatched to Single Family Fire Disaster Affecting 2-Adults with 1-Pet in Salem - 12/13/18

Disaster responders with the local chapter of the American Red Cross dispatched on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at approximately 0430 hours in the 4000 block of Ne Hazelgreen Road, Ne Salem, Or.

This single-family fire affected 2-adults with 1-pet. The Red Cross provided resources to help address immediate basic needs such as temporary housing, food, clothing, comfort kits including toiletrie items, information about recovery  services, health care and mental health services as needed. Additional information on this incident, if available can be obtained through the local first responding agencies/fire department.'

The Red Cross in Oregon and Southwest Washington (Cascades Region) helps an average of three families affected by fire disasgters in the home each day. The Red Cross Advocates emergency preparedness and offers free installation of smoke alarms in the community.
