Reynolds School District 7 Continues To Provide Food For Families During Governor's Pause Order - 11/11/20

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 

Reynolds School District 7 Continues to Provide Food for Families During Governor’s Pause Order

November 11, 2020, Fairview, OR – Reynolds School District 7 will continue to offer food pantries and meal distribution efforts for children up to 18 living within Reynolds School District at various locations during the Governor’s two-week pause order for social activities.  Following Oregon’s COVID-19 regulations, meals will be provided in the parking lot or for car/foot curbside pick-up at the following locations:

Elementary Schools:  (11:30am–12:30pm) - Alder Elementary School; Davis Elementary School; Fairview Elementary School; Glenfair Elementary School; Hartley Elementary School; Margaret Scott Elementary School; Salish Ponds Elementary School; Sweetbriar Elementary School; Troutdale Elementary School; Wilkes Elementary School; Woodland Elementary School; and Rockwood Preparatory Academy.

Secondary Schools:  (11:30am–1:00pm) - HB Lee Middle School; Reynolds Middle School; Walt Morey Middle School and Reynolds High School.

Reynolds School District, with SUN Community Schools and Oregon Food Bank will continue to offer public food pantries at the following locations:

Glenfair Elementary School: Tuesdays, 3:30-5:00pm; Reynolds High School: last Tuesday of the month, 2:00-5:00pm; Alder Elementary School: Wednesdays, 2:30-4:00pm (Closed on November 11); and Reynolds Middle School: Fridays, 3:00-5:00pm.

“It’s vitally important that our students continue to receive nutritious meals to support their educational efforts.” states Dr. Danna Diaz, Reynolds School District Superintendent. Valerie Tewksbury, Board Chair, declares, “We want to continue to support parents and guardians of every student in the Reynolds School District, even during the Governor’s pause for social activities. By continuing to provide meal distribution locations and food pantries, we are ensuring that every Reynolds student has the opportunity to receive meals as if they were in school.” 

Food distribution will be closed on 11/11 and 11/16.  Double meals will be distributed on 11/10 and 11/13 to ensure students have meals available on days we are closed for distribution.  For more information on Reynolds School Districts’ food distribution programs, please visit us here.
