Portland Metro Chamber and Downtown Portland Clean & Safe release 2024 State of the Economy and State of Downtown & Central City reports
Portland, Ore. – On Thursday, February 15, the Portland Metro Chamber and Downtown Portland Clean & Safe will release its annual economic reports at their monthly Forum Breakfast event. Join us for a presentation by Dr. Mike Wilkerson, Partner and Director of Analytics at ECONorthwest, as he discusses the findings of these reports.

This year’s reports show a huge directional change for Portland and the region. 2023 was a pivotal year for the Rose City and the state. Highlights include a new list of peer cities, population outgrowth and its impact on the economy, job recovery trends, increased unaffordability and cost of living across the Portland region. Also, Downtown Portland Clean & Safe’s economic report takes a closer look at vacant office space in the Central City, trends in downtown foot traffic and the overall role Downtown Portland plays in our regional and state economies.
