Portland, OR — Portland Fruit Tree Project (PFTP) is thrilled to announce a free Apple Press event at Gabriel Orchard on September 26th, thanks to the generous support of Portland Parks and Recreation. As part of PFTP’s one-year contract to help manage this beloved community space, we invite neighbors and volunteers of all ages and abilities to join us for a fun, hands-on experience. The event, scheduled from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, will offer participants the chance to press fresh orchard apples into cider, connect with the community, and learn more about the orchard’s mission of sustainability and food justice. This Apple Press is part of a larger series of work parties, workshops, and events held at Gabriel Orchard to encourage local engagement and stewardship of our shared green spaces.

While the event is free and open to the public, we encourage participants to register in advance through our volunteer portal. By signing up ahead of time, you can help us ensure we have the necessary supplies and equipment for everyone to enjoy the experience.
