Regional emergency communication event to improve disaster preparedness - 06/07/19

Today (6/7), emergency management agencies throughout the region are hosting an event at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) in Portland from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to hear directly from the community how best to provide emergency alert and preparedness information. The event will bring together multilingual community leaders and organizations in a conversation on how to reach the people they serve with culturally and linguistically appropriate messages.

Sponsors include Clackamas County, Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency (CRESA), Multnomah County, Multnomah County Drainage District (MCDD), Portland Bureau of Emergency Management (PBEM), Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), and Washington County.

Lunch will be provided along with free giveaways and interpretation services.
