Vancouver, WA – Pink Lemonade Project’s Pink Glow Gala, held on Friday, May 6th at ilani, raised a record-breaking $425,000 with 530 guests in attendance. The gala was presented by ilani, Cowlitz Indian Tribe and Natrelle.
Dignitaries, business and community leaders and other stakeholders came together for a powerful evening of incredible storytelling, advocacy and fundraising for underserved women and men affected by breast cancer.
“ilani and the Cowlitz Indian Tribe were honored to co-present the evening with Pink Lemonade Project. This valuable community nonprofit fills the gaps with emotional, practical and psychological support for not only those walking through their cancer journey, but also their caregivers and families. We are delighted with their success in the service of those fighting breast cancer,” Kara Fox-LaRose, President & General Manager, ilani.
Today, one in seven women will be diagnosed with breast cancer right here in the Northwest. And one percent of men will be diagnosed. When breast cancer is a leading cause of death and significant health disparities for women, taking action to make a difference is the most important fight.
The evening educated, empowered and supported the broader breast cancer community. The event was replete with entertainment including emcee Janine Wolf, retired K103 personality, a raffle/auction, dinner, live music by Hit Machine and dancing into the late evening.
“It was a memorable evening with people coming together again after more than two years. Pink Lemonade Project has been filling the gaps left by Susan G. Komen Oregon SW Washington and served a record number of patients and families, increasing survivorship, decreasing deaths and improving their quality of life,” said Susan Stearns, Chief Executive Officer.
