Emergency response training - 06/07/18

The Cheyenne Mountain AFS fire department will conduct flashover fire training exercises from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. June 11 at the base fire training center located on the CMAFS installation, southwest of Highway 115 and South Academy Boulevard.

This routine training is conducted to ensure emergency responders are prepared to handle a wide variety of emergencies on and off the installation. In coordination with Cheyenne Mountain Fire Emergency Services, the Colorado Springs Fire Department will be conducting structural fire scenarios for their fire academy students.

Those traveling the I-25 and Highway 115 corridors and living adjacent to the installation should not be alarmed if they see smoke or fire from this area. The CMAFS fire training center has significant safety controls in place to ensure the training environment remains safe, yet provides the maximum educational environment for the firefighting teams.
